Wasting no time after his debut record's release in the spring of 2011, Lloyd, a native of the Upper Ottawa Valley who now calls Ottawa home, swiftly put together a talented ensemble to commence live shows. No stranger to the stage, Lloyd has around two thousand shows under his belt, mostly in-and-around Eastern Ontario. And after working with both Jordon Zadorozny and Eric Eggleston on his self-titled effort, Liam Lloyd & Co had some convincing material to run with. A testimony to Lloyd and the groups ability as a unit, the crew was chosen by LiVE88.5 FM as the recipient of a tasty musical development grant as one of the top bands in the region, received less than a month after returning from a southern Ontario showcase tour.
A strong creative chemistry was noticed while working with Eggleston, and Lloyd decided to join forces once again with the up-and-coming Ottawa producer on his next musical exploit. After a whirlwind year in 2012, including a dash down to Los Angeles and an impromptu drive to Tijuana, Against The Sun, Lloyd's eight-song sophomore endeavour, was released in early November. The music video for the first single, Medicine In Music, was then published on the striding heels of the record, and can be seen on the Official Liam Lloyd YouTube Channel!
After enjoying some acclaim and radio exposure with the second record, Lloyd purposefully took a hiatus from music to focus on travel and wellness. Having toured the countryside in Spain, Australia, Ecuador, Cambodia, Scotland, Morocco, Thailand, Greece, Malaysia, Peru, Vietnam... it seemed undeniable that a new album was just on the horizon.
Having just recently finished recording album number three, a different, more organic feel to not only the music, but also the recording process, has been noticed. Also, be sure to read about Lloyd's charitable initiative, having teamed up with The Christie Lake Kids, and donating 50% of revenue from the single to the amazing Ottawa-based charity.
